about

the long and short of it

So what does the "W" stand for, anyway? "W" stands for "William," who was my great-grandfather. "W" also stands for: "wired," "webmaster," "witwanton," "wordish," and "waffles," to name a few.

To paraphrase Jacques Bertin, design is the visual means of resolving logical problems. As such, I consider myself a visual problem solver, and strive to create simple, straightforward solutions — ensuring that the thematic message of the content is carried through the design in its entirety, while presenting information in an easily interpreted manner. I graduated in Spring of 2005 from Montserrat College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and currently serve as a Communications Associate at HSRI, an awesome nonprofit in Somerville, MA.

I also like to keep busy: I have a prettly large number of interests, some of my favorites including web culture, traditional and digital art, technology, and writing. I also help moderate the creative forum on one of the top 10 most popular discussion boards on the web. Want to know more?
